Each library in the Joint Bank-Fund Library Network offers specialized services and unique subject research expertise to Bank and Fund staff.
JOLIS (Joint Libraries Information System), provides electronic access to the shared catalog of the libraries. Basic services offered by most libraries include:
Training Offered on Library Systems Current demonstrations and Hands-on Sessions will appear under announcements when available Each week the Joint Library offers library tours combined with an overview of JOLIS and other databases that can be accessed from the Library Network Web site. These informal sessions are held Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Please call the library at 202-623-7054 to confirm your place. The IMF Training Unit offers a two hour course called Introduction to JOLIS. IMF staff should check the IMF intranet under Departmental Bulletin Boards / Administration / Training / Computers / Administrative Systems for schedules and registration information. Two of the World Bank Institute's courses include sections on library resources presented by librarians from the Sectoral & IT Resource Center and the Joint Library. These courses offer hands-on training for staff who are interested in sharpening their research skills using internal and external databases and Internet resources. The library presentation includes sections on using the JOLIS library catalog and other databases available through the Library Network Web site. The classes, Information Resources Available at your desktop and Strategies are generally offered each month but have been suspended to be "revamped."
