JOLIS
home page is organized into three distinct columns namely Key Resources, The Libraries and Announcements in that order.

Key Resources
JOLIS Library Catalog
(JOLIS) is the shared electronic catalog of the Library Network at headquarters which consists of 12 Bank and Fund libraries in Washington, DC. JOLIS includes references to books, journal titles, journal articles, working papers, ebooks, conference proceedings, technical reports, and Internet hotlinks to full-text items when available. Codes identify individual libraries which own the materials. Items can be requested from JOLIS while in JOLIS.
NewsPlus This is the new news service for the World Bank Group and IMF staff. Click on this link to access unparalleled global news and business information. Among its many advantages are access to 8,000 news sources and 10,000 Web sites and an extensive archive going back to over 20 years for some publications, e.g. the Economist going back to 1981. It is presently available in 22 languages, has 7 seven interface languages from which to choose and you can set up an e-mail alerting service on a subject area of your choice.
Journals and Newspapers This link leads to the Library Network's journal and newspaper titles. Each entry displays the holding libraries, available years, and Web accessibility (if available).
EJournals ENewspapers Access full-text of journals and newspapers available on the Web. You can print and download full-text at your desktop.
Research Papers Both print and electronic.
Ebooks Click here to access and browse the ebooks collection. You can search either by author, title, subject, keywords, publisher or series/source. You can also check out an ebook online for a period of 3 days by creating a personal account. At the end of the loan period, the ebook is automatically returned to the eshelf. Currently, there are approximately 500 titles in this growing collection.
Database Resources Access to over 80 licensed databases including ProQuest, EIU (Economist Intelligence Unit), Oxford Analytica, and FirstSearch (which itself provides access to about 35 databases). Access to title and subject lists of the databases, description of each database's content, as well as Library Network prepared Quick Search Guides, when available. The Suggest a Database link allows you to make suggestions on additional databases you would like the Library Network to purchase. Click on this link, complete and submit the form. Your suggestion will be evaluated!
Statistical Resources Desktop access to online sources for international statistical information arranged separately by the organizations which produce them and the geographical areas & sectors covered. Includes both free Internet resources as well as licensed database sources available only to staff of World Bank and IMF.
Pathfinders Library resources on countries, sectors, and other topics of interest to library users.
Electronic Tables of Contents (ETOCs) - Click here to find out more about journal literature in your subject areas of interest. You can do a title search for journals, select articles online and request for document delivery of the selected articles. You can also subscribe to one or more subject area listservs to receive tables of contents for journals in the subject area(s) via e-mail.
Remote Access Instructions Has distinct instructions to both Bank and IMF staff separately on how to access Library Network resources such as licensed commercial databases when they are offsite.

Internet Resources Point your Web browser here to access external Web sites which have been reviewed and selected by Library Network research librarians for use by World Bank Group and IMF staff.

List of Libraries Names and locations of Washington, DC libraries in the Library Network, as well as their abbreviations. The abbreviation following the name of each library is the code that is used in JOLIS Library Catalog records to indicate which library(ies) has the book or journal or article or research paper, being referenced, in its collection. Also includes information on World Bank Country Office PIC/Libraries (PICs are Public Information Centers).
Special Collection Click here for information on the Bretton Woods File (BWF), central banks annual reports and central banks Web sites, Research Papers File, Financial Times Surveys, Economist Surveys, etc.
Information for Resident Missions & Country Offices Information on library services for World Bank Group country offices and IMF resident missions.
Search Global JOLIS the shared online catalog of some World Bank Group Public Information Centres and Country Office Libraries. Includes references to books, research papers, public Bank reports, as well as selected country-specific reports from local NGOs and government agencies. Items belonging to the BANKDOCS library are hyperlinked to the full-text in World Development Sources (http://www-wds.worldbank.org/).

Outside Visitor Policy Outside visitors are defined as Non-World Bank Group and Non-IMF staff!
Library external site Individuals outside the World Bank Group and the IMF should type http://jolis.worldbankimflib.org to access the Library Network's Web site. Outsiders will be able to access JOLIS Library Catalog BUT NOT the licensed databases!
