Rudi Dornbusch, the world renowned macroeconomist, died of cancer at his home in Washington, D.C. on July 25. He was a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology School of Economics, and a prolific and gifted writer of scholarly articles, economics textbooks, and popular articles. Professor Dornbusch was a frequent lecturer at the IMF and the World Bank Group, and also a consultant to the two institutions.
